Out-of-State Prescriptions

North Fulton Internal Medicine cannot call in or e-scribe any medication outside of the state of Georgia.

If you are traveling and forget your prescription medications, need a new prescription, or need a refill on a maintenance medication, we cannot call in the prescription to a pharmacy outside of Georgia.

If deemed appropriate, we can send the prescription to a local pharmacy who can then transfer it to a location in another state (eg. from CVS to CVS).

During the COVID pandemic, telemedicine laws were relaxed to accommodate the crisis. Now that the crisis has passed, we cannot conduct telemedicine appointments if our patient is not in Georgia.

Please schedule follow-up appointments when you can come into our office or schedule telemedicine appoinments while you are calling from within Georgia.

This policy update is necessary to keep North Fulton Internal Medicine within the legal parameters set forth by the federal DEA and state of Georgia.
